A History of Where We Are Today

  In the mid seventies, while traveling home from work late one night, Reverend Lonnie Gunter stopped on the side of the road to pray. He went into the woods and as he knelt there to pray, the Lord spoke to his spirit and said; "I will give you this land to build a church and children's home on.  The land did not become available until 1993. Genesis Full Gospel Church  was  built  in  1995 and is operating at 433 Sparger Road, in Surry County, North Carolina.  In 1998 CanaanLand Children's Home was incorporated. In March of 2002, 4.587 acres of property was bought at the price of $25,000.00 to build the home on.
In 2008 Genesis Full Gospel Church gave 1.6 acres of land to Canaanland Childrens Home for building purposes.
